Île-aux-Moines: Direct crossing from April to September – 30 mins from Kerners or 1h from Port Navalo – 2 km from Arzon
Île-aux-Moines [island of the monks] owes its name to the monks at the Redon abbey which was offered to them by the king of Brittany in the 9th century. You will be transported to another Brittany, the one which is reminiscent of the Greek islands with its small, white fisherman houses! The island is visited by foot or by bike which you can hire at the landing dock. Go along the 14-km coastal path which leads to the beach and the megalithic remains in small forests surrounded by lush vegetation.
Fête de la Mer [Sea Festival] – end of July (funfair, Breton dancing, banquet and fireworks), musical events from July-August: baroque music concerts, worldwide sacred music concerts, choirs and regional groups.
Festival de la voile [Sailing Festival] (250 boats) – weekend of the 15th August
